Leadership Design Group (LDG) exists to create better mentors and equip individuals and organizations to live intentionally, creatively, and intentionally according to their unique personality and design. I was brought on by Clymb Marketing to create a brand and web presence from this ambitious vision.
We were essentially starting from scratch with a fairly open brief. Although there was some existing branding and collateral, the founders of LDG were open to exploring different creative directions. Another challenge was really more of a challenge to the core understanding of mentorship as a business model. A lot of people offer advice, but real, involved mentorship is hard to find and trust is key. A brand and website would need to feel engaging, yet trustworthy.
Fundamental to the LDG leadership team was the idea of three thirds of life, seeing one's life in thirds (0-30, 30-60, 60-90+), and eight dimensions within that life. Blending 3 and 8 was certainly a challenge but achieved by weaving 3 octagonal rings together with each side of the ring represented by different colors. The mark and typography were chosen to feel modern, but also to feel solid...trustworthy.
The focus on content through blogging and events was the primary means of communication about LDG online so a simple to use CMS was an obvious solution. And my favorite out of the box solution is usually WordPress for this kind of project. I designed and themed a WordPress site to pair the clean brand with an equally clean visual design. Additionally, I created graphics to be used in social campaigns, blog posts, and event marketing.
